Can someone tell me why is the sky blue?
I know this is a strange, obvious question, but I really was wondering, why is the sky blue?
here you go, and tell people, its fun
as white light enters the earth’s atmosphere, its “scattered”, in other words, its absorbed and re-emitted in every direction by oxygen and nitrogen molecules. since white light contains every frequency(color) of light(red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet), all of these colors are scattered. however, due to different frequencies(red the lowest, violet the highest), a different amount of interactions occur (red the fewest, violet the most), and therefore, violet is scattered the most, and down the line. so red goes, basically right through, while violet is scattered a lot, making it visible, but it really isn’t, our eyes aren’t sensitive enough to pick up violet light like that, so we see the next highest frequency down, blue, thus, due to scattering of light, we are able to see blue light and the sky is blue
IT’S NOT A REFLECTION OF THE OCEAN, DON’T LISTEN TO THEM, IF IT WAS, WHY CAN YOU SEE BLUE SKY IN KENTUCKY, INDIANA, IDAHO AND STUFF!!!!
