Tips for bathing a 12 month old?
I have been bathing my daughter in her First Years Infant to Toddler Tub. I would lay her in the reclined side (the infant side) to wash/rinse her hair, then she would sit in the toddler side to finish her bath. It worked perfectly.
But now she is outgrowing the tub. So my question is, now what? Some one told me to get a ring seat with a suction cup on the bottom for her and just set that in the big tub. But our tub has a non-skid bottom……the suction cup would not stick. Would the ring seat still work without being stuck down? Any other suggestions for bathing my daughter and washing her hair? She is not old enough to just sit up and put her head back, without losing her balance. And it takes 2 hands to lean her back, leaving none to wash/rinse her with.
What is the next step after the baby tub?
As far as the ring seat goes the solution is simple. By a rubber bath mat that you lay in the tub. You are not going to be leaving her in there alone anyways. If the phone rings leave it. If you are expecting a call bring the phone in ahead of time. You knew this already but anyways…
What about sitting her on her bum in the kitchen sink. Cover the plug with a cloth so it does not hurt her bum. You can then rinse her off with a cloth and a cup of water.
Otherwise just lay her in the shallow tub with her head on your arm and your hand on her bum. You wash her and rinse her with your other hand. That is what you do once they are to big for the ring seat. it is alright to skip that phase if you want. Saves money on somthing that is only going to be of use for six months. Hoe this helps.
