Are your kids loud?
I have recently moved into a new rental home where the landlord lives below us. We asked the landlord ifhewas prepared to hear kids running around all day?he said yes he was used to it because the previous tenants had small kids as well.I will add that our kids are age 4 and 6. The 6 year old has kabuki syndrome which puts him ont he autistic spectrum so though we reason with him to play quietly and be considerate of the landlord, he does not get it. he has short term memory isues when it comes to such things.Both kids get so excited when they play and the volume goes up. they are not fighting, just laughing. My son needs to be in constand motion( sensory issues) so heis always running, not walking everywhere he goes).The landlord keeps making noise complaints. i need to know if my kids are louder than most. What are your kids like. Is it reasonable for the landlord to expect me to have stepford kids whenever get loud when they play? Personally I don’t think so since we warned him.
Uh I hate your landlord already. I can not stand anyone who does not have tolerance for special needs children or people in general. Well I am biased I ahve a son with Prader Willi syndrome. I ahve my own bag of non negotiables that are specific to his syndrome and I am constantly educating people about it-especially the ones who know him best. They forget and often times he appears ‘ok’ so they truely forget. Educate him more about your son’s needs to run, and short term memory and over all reasons.
I have 3 children and they are so loud some times I can’t take it. theya re 4, 2 and 1. CHildren are loud. They run scream and cry pretty much all of them at once or some one is always loud.
I know it is a hard way ahead of you but be strong and just with a smile re-explain your son’s situation and tell him what you all actively do to help or cue him.
