Fancy Picnic Food ideas?
I want to put a really nice picnic together for my boyfriend and I. So far I’ve decided on parma ham (he loves it), baked Camembert with some nice bruschetta; and a nice bottle of red wine. I need finger food but nice stuff, I want to treat him and we’re both budding foodies. Any ideas?
Here are some treats that I’ve used for many picnics:
1. Pate Mousse Truffee, brie with mushrooms, french ham, dijon mustard, cornichons, baguette slices
2. Asparagas, cooked crisp tender and wrapped with prosciutto
3. French onion soup in a thermos
4. Cold roasted herb chicken
5. Cucumber and tomato salad
6. Cantelope or melon wrapped in prosciutto
7. Chocolate dipped strawberries
8. Salmon and Cream Cheese deviled eggs
9. Cheese platter with crisp green or red grapes: Spanish Manchega, Brie, Smoked Gouda, Farmers or Teleme cheese. Serve with artison crackers or sliced baguette.
10. Petite sweets such as madelines, lemon tarts, pecan pie tarts, cookies, chocolates
