If I am cooking 2 1/2 cups of white long rice how much water do I need?
Usually I use 3 cups of water per 2 cups of rice but I would like the grain to cook but not split open. So how much water would I need for 2 1/2 cups of white rice, (long grain)?
With 5 cups of water the grain will split open I do not want that. I want it cooked but not split.
5 cups should do it. Use a little less if you like firmer rice, a little more if you want it sticky. I usually add a little salt to the water for flavor.
