My 6 yr old is to skinny?
My 6 yr old son only weighs about 35-40 lbs he is skin and bones..he wears a size 6 in his jeans with the adjustable waist because in length they fit him just not in the waist. I’m not sure if him being born prematue has n e thing to do with it he only weighed 4 lbs 14 oz and he was born at 34 wks….He also has asthma but it only acts up sometimes not sure if n e of that would result in him being so skinny…His dad and i are also small but our other children are normal weight…not as skinny as my 6 yr old….Does anyone else have this problem? and if so what did you do for weight gain i have tried everything….his eating habbits are ok he eats ALL the time but small amounts.. thank you
That sounds normal for a preemie. But obviously take him to the doctor. If your child was not a preemie and just a picky eater like mine, it would be different. In my daughters case she either eats or she doesn’t. I’ve stopped worrying about it. We have regular chekups and I just let them know that she doesn’t eat and is probably malnourished. They do bloodtests to make sure everything is normal.
