How do I care for a 7 day old infant girl?
Well first of all you feed her about four ounces of formula or breast milk about every two to three hours or when she puts her hand in her mouth and sucks on it, and makes a sound like nah. When your about two ounces left you need to burp her. support her neck at all times! by holding your hand or arm under her neck, head and back at the same time. to burp her you need to have a cloth to cover your shoulder and some of your chest, place the babies head against your chest with her face were she can breathe. Gently pat the babies back or bottom until she burps, or spits up. finish the bottle and repeat the burping process again.
To change a dirty diaper, wipe her clean with baby wipes. DO NOT FORGET ABOUT HER PRIVATE PLACE!!!!! to clean that you most open the flaps and use a corner of a clean wipe and GENTLY wipe out any yellow or brown mess. Put diaper rash cream on any redness that isn’t from the diapers edges. And put on a clean diaper.
To get her to sleep, hold her in your arms with her laying with her head supported by your arm. gently sway back and forth, and walk around with her and talk to her in a low soft voice.
ounce asleep put her in her crib or down on a bed with pillows surrounding her so she doesnt go anywere,make sure none of the pillows are in her face . NEVER put her on her belly to sleep. its not safe, she could suffocate, you dont want that to happen. if she doesnt stay asleep for every long < shorter that an hour> try rubbing her belly gently and sining a soft lolly bye to her. comfort her by talking to her and telling her shes going to be fine. TELL HER YOU LOVE HER!!!!
