Does your neighborhood have any restrictions?
I live in a new subdivision in Tennessee and the restrictions are ridiculous. Examples: garage door can not not stay open without satellite dishes, mowed the grass should be professionally aisle must be pressure washed once a year the trees in the front yard may not exceed 30 m should be slaughtered, your mailbox must match your house, no Christmas decorations, no banners, no signs, no swimming pool, not Gymboree, garage doors can not face the street. etc etc. Do you think this is stupid?
I live in Tennessee too! Restrictions on our neighborhood have been lifted after 20 years was in 1999. I will not buy in an area with restrictions, particularly stupid like yours a. When I lived in Oklahoma City makes few years, one of the areas (Nichols Hills Village I) may not have a P / U truck or van in your driveway, keep garage. Several other restrictions, but trucks and vans is what comes to mind without having to think about it.
