1st birthday party ideas?
So it’s our baby’s first birthday and plan to celebrate with small family and godparents (8 adults total). Our place/patio is small but don’t want to deal with cleaning the house for hosting. Gymboree is too expensive for just 1 baby. We could get a platter of sandwiches and can bake cupcakes, or we can go to a kid’s place with food. The park is not an option — too hot in June and too many bugs. Somewhere with party favors/cleanup included would be ideal. Any thoughts?
My son’s first birthday is in June as well, and like you I don’t want cleanup, lots of prep, hassle, bugs, or heat, lol. We are having his birthday party at at a local waterpark. It isn’t very expensive, and he will love it I’m sure as he loves to play in the water. They have sprinkler toys for the younger kids, and pools for the older kids, so everyone will have something to do! (including myself, who will be swimsuited and right in there with the kids, beating the heat!) Maybe you could look into it…
P.S. HARCHICK…Seriously, get over it. I feel sorry for your kids 
as it seems like nothing would be special for them, and you would not want to waste money on something as momentous as their first birthday party. Good grief. They questioner didn’t say she wanted to rent a houseboat! If it were so important for her to save the money, perhaps she might use it for college instead of a car???
