Are there any certain rules for taking photos at a horse show?
I’m wondering, I’m part of my team’s equestrian club, and I want to go to the horse shows with them and take some pictures. I was wondering, are there any rules I should be aware of in general of taking pictures of the horses/ riders? Thanks!

No, my club leader actually asked me to take pictures of some of the members at their shows.
First there is no rule or law that says you can or can not take pictures of people. Once you take them YOU own the copyright on those images and you can do as you wish with them.
The big thing to keep in mind is where you stand. Obviously stay out of the arena, gate area and watch your movements if you are close to the rail. I have yet to have a flash bother a horse inside or out even my strobes that I use at big shows. Now some horses are just scared of the camera once you put it up to your eye and if the horse starts to look like he is getting nervous them stop taking pictures and put the camera back down to your side.

Now the club might have a rule or there might be a contracted photographer there that might change things but as a general rule. No there is no reason you can not take pictures.
