How to stop the wedding guests non-Catholics to take communion in a Catholic marriage?
I am a Catholic, married in a church Catholic. My boyfriend is Baptist Baptist family and friends. We experience the communion of marriage, of course, non-Catholics can not take communion at Mass. as Cathlolics can not take communion in any Catholic churches. Some family members are basically saying they plan on it taking all the same, which is a big no no. It seems you might actually have to stop the ceremony if they try? So whose job is and what is supposed to do? Actually, yes, not stop them. It's like a mortal sin to watch and do nothing.
I suggest (as others) to discuss this with your priest. I'm sure he has dealt with the same before and would be very well prepared to tactfully explain why all non-Catholics can not take communion. The reason is simple, and certainly not to offend Catholics anyone. The Church is very welcoming of all people and Baptists at their wedding will be treated with the utmost respect and love. Non-Catholics are not allowed because the Catholic Church communion, communion is different. My opinion is that the Protestant faith, is simply a representation of the Last Supper. However, in a Catholic ceremony, bread and wine undergo transubstantiation and become the body and blood. Catholics suffer important preparation before receiving Holy Communion, is not simply given away at the Mass for the people of denigration of Catholicism: Maybe you should do your homework before accusing the Catholics of anger to be obnoxious, rude, ridiculous etc. It is a pleasure to welcome to the church the couple with open arms!
