Does my daughter really know her bunny?
My daughter decided that a bunny she got from the baby shower was going to be her end all-be all favorite toy. It is a Carter’s Just One Year bunny and they only make each one for a short while. So we cant buy this one in the store anymore. We have a bunny that looks exactly like it except instead of hearts on the belly it says Just One Year. And she wont even give it a second look. We try to switch them out and she know the difference almost immediately. We looked online a long time ago and people must know they are hard to come by because they were all over $100!!!!! I finally found one the other day and ordered it because it was $25. Which begs the question, does she know its her bunny because its white and has colored hearts, or does she know its hers because it smells like her or whatever. We are going to attempt to use this one as a spare/backup and we aren’t sure she is going to accept it.
Its probably a mix of both. It smells good to her, it smells like home and like her. But she knows what it looks like. Children are bright that way, they remember people and things very well when they are familiar with them. May I enquire as to why you must switch it out? Is it ruined? If it has holes can you sew them instead of throwing it out?
I see that its a spare, but why worry if she loves the one she has, many toys get run ragged and look terrible, but the baby who owns it loves it anyway. Just take it while she sleeps and clean it up, stitch holes and send it back to its bed , with her.
