how to get my dad to…?
i used to be a total freak. like black on black every day, heavy makeup, weird hair. my dad just went crazy, he made me get the most retardedly boring haircut and told me im not allowed to wear any makeup and took like every peice of clothing i own. now he is making me go buy extremely girly clothes. no im not overexagerating. it bright pink and yellow and light purple and baby blue-no dark colors. not alowwed to own 1 article of clothing with even a spec of black. im willing to dress a little more girly and look more “normal” but i dont wanna completely change. and i need at least a little makeup. any suggestins on how to get him to acctually listen and reason with me a bit.
and no im not going to rebell and take my stuff back.

Get some fashion magazines, find some light makeup looks and a hairstyle that you would like to wear. Then sit down with your dad and show him what you found. Tell him that you are willing to wear things that he approves of, and that it isn’t all that bad. But you would like to add a new hairstyle and light makeup to your look and you wanted to get his opinion. Go to him in a mature way, and it may turn out with a solution that you are both happy with. After all, he is only looking out for your best interests. He is probably afraid of the type of people you would attract dressed the way you used to. Don’t see it as a punishment, just see it as his loving way of protecting you. Fathers sometimes don’t have the greatest tact when dealing with their daughters. Appreciate that he cares about you that much. Most children these days could do whatever they want, and even if it is dangerous their parents still don’t care. Feel sorry for those children! I do!
