why do some people have a problem with buying and using gently used items for there babies and kids?
i will admit that i have bought a few things new like a crib & mattress, and his swing. but besides what i got new for my baby shower i would say about 80% of what he has is either hand me downs from fam & friends. or i bought it from second hand shops, yard sales Craig’s list etc. i have saved LOT’S of money this way. i don’t buy or let him wear anything crusty or stained or unsafe. i just don’t understand the point of buying these things new because they out grown EVERYTHING so fast, toys, clothing, etc. so why do some people have a problem with buying or using gently used or second hand item? i wash and sterilize everything before he uses it. are some people just really that stuck up? or do people just think giving ur baby anything that isn’t new is gross? sometimes i get really excited when i find exactly what i want really cheap, and until recently i thought this was wonderful till someone kinda gave me this attitude like i was a scrub? so any input would be great?
yeah some people are just stuck up… my kids get lots of used stuff… ok there are some things i wont buy used… potty chair and mattresses are 2, i also only give new stuff as gifts, like for christmas… it silly but i feel odd give a used gift even to my babies that obviously dont know the difference
also i have bought outfits secondhand that i know i could never afford new… i know this for a fact cus once i tried to find a second outfit for my twins so they could match and turns out the brand i had bought at the salvation army store retailed new for $80 for an infant outfit!!! yea people that dont buy used are foolish
