Does anyone else ave a significant other whose hobby takes all their time and money?
My Husband is obsessed with motorcycles. He works at a motorcycle shop, at the moment he has 4 different motorcycle projects which he is working on, he has at least 2 up coming motorcycle events which are out of town and require him to take time off from work. Maybe I wouldn’t mind so much but I have to beg him to give me $20 a week to stick back for emergencies, He has never taken a day off from work to do something with his family-we have a 2 year, and he never watches the baby so I can do more than run to the grocery store. I am just feeling a little used I suppose. I don’t go and buy things I could really use, like some clothes or new tennis shoes because there is never money and what little is left after his hobby I feel we need for that baby. He will walk in from work and go straight to the garage and work for hours on one of his bikes. We don’t argue or fight, this isn’t why he spends all his time doing this, he is just obsessed with bikes. Any ideas?
Boys and their toys! When my husband and I first had our kids, our money was limited and he liked to have toys. At that phase of our life, I just let him have his toys. My husband worked lots of hours to allow me to stay home with the kids, so I let him have his hobbies and didnt complain. I figured we could have more money to get other things if I was working, but I loved being home for those years, so I let it go. Once the kids got older I got a job and things slowly changed. Now I have a good income and have my own hobbies. Dont worry, your baby wont be 2 forever. Just make the best of it and enjoy being there with the baby. Once the baby is in school you’ll be able to work and buy what you want.
