How the heck to get formula stains OUT?
My daughter’s a messy drinker and has soy formula stains on some of her onsies and jammies. I want to pass them down to a friend, but not all stained. Originally when I washed them I used Oxy Stain remover and it just turned the stains orange! Argh! As we all know, baby clothes are not cheap so any ideas before they go in the goodwill bag?
Someone at goodwill may find a use for them. The onsies are usually used under other clothes so a little stain might not matter to someone. What is my other option, throw them in the trash so they clog up a landfill somewhere? geesh.
i have donated clothes that i got from someone else, didn’t have stains, but i don’t like them and wouldn’t put them on my child…does that make me rude? if she donates the stained ones, it is up to whomever to choose to buy or not; someone may not be able to afford a lot of things and may buy the stained clothes as play clothes for home bc they can’t afford new ones….if someone needs them, they will buy them, if not they won’t; how is it rude to donate something when there could be someone out there that could find a use for them…? maybe they have a messy eater that always gets it on their clothes, so they wouldn’t want to stain anything that isn’t already stained? just bc they are stained, doesn’t mean they can’t be washed and cleaned and used for someone’s else’s needs….don’t be so condescending…..as i said, it is up to the shopper’s whether they buy or don’t buy…..as for getting the stains out, if you have already dried them, i would give up; or if they are white, i would try real bleach….., we use dreft and spray and wash with resolve and it so far has worked for us, but if it doesn’t come out in the first wash, i don’t dry it and try again…gl
