Sister/her baby live with my family..is it rude to ask her to stay out of my bedroom?
They have a room and a bathroom, yet she’s always using my bath (in my room) and in the mornings when I”m trying to sleep (my husband and I are night owls, so we sleep late/work second shift) they come in our room, she gets on the computer and turns on cartoons for her daughter and she lets her run around and get into our stuff-pulling clothes out of drawers, pulling out dvds/cd and taking them out of their cases, messing in our bathroom and she gets very defensive when I ask her to stay out of my bedroom like it’s so rude…? I don’t want her mad at me about it.. how would you handle this situation?
No it’s not rude. The sooner you tell her the better: “I need to tell you something you may not be aware of: Since I work second shift and really need my sleep, I’d really appreciate it if you could help me out by staying out of my room and bathroom. I’m sorry I didn’t say something sooner, but I didn’t realize how grumpy I am when I don’t get enough sleep.”
