Canadians: any recommendations for, or warnings about, stores that sell baby stuff?
For basic baby supplies — best places to buy diapers, etc?
For clothes — plain but good-quality?
For, well, anything? Our local ‘Babies R Us’ is lousy. The Bay had a surprisingly small baby section. And damned if we know who sells the biggest range of breast pumps, the cheapest diapers (any recommendations on Cdn generic brands?), anything like that. Help!
(Specific Ottawa-area recommendations welcome, too.)
I normally go to Walmart. Their diapers are decent. A little awkward to put on the baby, but decent no less. They work. They have lots of cute and inexpensive clothes. They sell breast pumps, too.
Life Brand (shoppers drug mart) diapers are inexpensive and effective, as well. Actually, I find all life brand products to be just as good as, if not better than, the big name stuff.
Do NOT use Compliments (Price chopper, Sobeys) diapers. Terrible.
