i havnt had my baby yet, im due on sunday, but i have been wondering – how will i know if my baby is warm?
i dont know if its just that im pregnant – most likely- but i like the air conditioner on cold. like 65 degrees, we live in mobile, al. but if the air isnt on at night AND the fan i wont be able to sleep. and the baby will be in the same room with me for awhile.
what do you suggest? should i bundle up my baby, should i sweat and not sleep at night. i heard somewhere that the baby need one more layer of clothes than you do?

Generally babies feel temperature the same we do unless they are newborn, so for the first couple of weeks you will need to dress your little one in an extra layer of clothes. Keep him or her swaddled in a blanket. They do loose heat rather quickly in their fist few days especially. The way to tell if a baby is too hot or too cold is to check the inside of their shirts (back or chest) not their legs, feet, or hands because they will always be cold since their circulatory systoms are still developing. If your baby is too cool to touch wrap another blanket over and if he’s sweaty take a layer off. If your newborn is extrememly cold immediately carry him next to your chest or skin to skin contant. That’s the quickest way to get him warm. Most likely your temperature will change and you won’t need it as cool in the room but regardless of what you do, girl, there won’t be any sleeping for you for a while! Babies eat every hour or two the first couple of weeks. Good luck!
