first time mommy needs advice…?
i’m going to be a first time mommy in about 3 1/2 months, and it just hit me today! (please don’t think i’m an idiot…but…) i’ve been thinking about all the cute clothes…and not about the diapers, formula, and other baby essentials…are there any moms with advice on the best formulas, bottles, or diaper brands? are there any sites that have GOOD baby checklists i can go by? i have no idea how to feed a baby, change a diaper, or even pick formula or bottles…any advice is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!
for your information “Chrissy”, I am a young mom, and I’m married, with a stable job…but after trying for THREE YEARS with no success, and you finally get pregnant, you don’t really think about diapers and bottles…you’re just happy to have finally been able to conceive. Congrats!!!! The best book to read is what to expect the first year. It was a bible to me. Your not an idiot, like you said you definatly were just so excited and …gee I wonder why!!! lol You will learn all that during your stay at the hospital. I also think it would be a good Idea to attend the parenting class your local birthing center provides. They are wonderful. They even give you information on what to do in a crisis. If your not breastfeeding you should ask your doctor. I used enfamil lipil with iron. There is also the equivalent in the brand Similac. Once you put your baby on one brand it is good to keep it on that brand. This reduces confusion for the baby and they don’t have to get used to a whole new formula.
You will have so much fun, enjoy. My little girl is already a year old.
By the way if you breastfeed don’t ever put saved breastmilk in the microwave.
