For parents & pet lovers, I need to know the best brands of baby goods and an opinion on a store idea.?
I’m thinking of opening a retail store and here’s my idea. What I’d like to do is sell baby products, (clothing, toys, diaper bags, & maybe maternity clothes), and pet products, (clothing, toys, beds, collars & leashes, & other novelty items). I’d like to sell higher end, but not extremely expensive things. I’m thinking the name will have something to do with baby, for human babies and people pets who are their babies. I’m not sure on that yet thought. I’d really, really like to know what people think of that idea.
Also, parents….I need your opinions on quality baby gear. I want to know your ideas on everything from clothing to blankets and books. Any advice would help. I want to sell durable, cute goods that people will want to come back for.

I don’t want to discourage you, but I don’t know how well a store like that will go over. Pet parents and baby parents don’t always understand one another. My dogs and cats were my only babies until my son was born — they are still very important to me but obviously my son takes precedence. My pets were never spoiled to the extend of some though. As a parent to both my son and my pets I would not want to shop in one store for everyone — it seems odd. If you move forward with your plan consider making it two store fronts with separate entrances and make it seem like two separate stores — you can connect them inside with a large doorway or archway.
As for brands — I’m a big fan of the mid price range durable baby products. I like Graco, Evenflo, Nuk, Nuby, Playtex, Ameda, Fisher Price, Leap Frog, and Carter.
