Does my baby have an allergy or a cold?
My daughter is 7 months old and last night about 1am she became very snuffly and upset. This has carried on into today. She is sneezing a lot and has a blocked nose which is also running with clear mucus. Otherwise she seems fine – is eating OK and no temperature.
I know she is allergic to grass pollen (her eyes swell if she comes into contact with it) and I have just noticed that when my bf brought in the clothes from the line last night, he left them in the bedroom. Is it possible that my daughter is having a bout of rhinitis caused by pollen on these clothes or is it more likely to be a cold? Just wondering as it seemed to come out of nowhere?
Sorry – rhinitis is when the mucus membranes in your nose swell up in response to an irritant. It causes a runny nose, sneezing and congestion. I get this myself (I am allergic to dust and pet dander) so I guess I am on the look out for it in my daughter!
If she is that allergic to grass pollen, it was probably because of that because this is the time where theres a lot of pollen around. So if those clothes were pretty close to her, i think it was because of that. Or it couldv’e been an open window.
